Harry Potter and Nine Inch Nails

One doesn't often find those in a title together... I shall explain.

In the spirit of criticizing modern art, I must also point out I don't understand some modern architecture... specifically the Millenium Dome (which is now called the O2 because the phone company sponsors them). A large, white tent-like dome with huge yellow sticks coming out. Someone said that from a distance at night it looks like a birthday cake. I must agree. This blue light structure was pretty cool though.

It is pretty interesting inside now. It is a shopping mall type atmosphere - and there is a huge cinema and concert venue. We went to see the new Harry Potter movie (Half Blood Prince) as it seemed very appropriate to watch it in the city where it takes place. (Many scenes we could say - Oh! We were there today! We saw that!) Not a bad evening. We ate at S&M, which advertised Great British Grub. It was. We then starred in our very own music video!

In the photo below, there are strange looking white half spheres. These were programmed with a screen and recorder for you to pick a song to dance to - which would be shown live on the screen and recorded to be sent to you if you chose. It was a pretty entertaining attraction.

After the movie, we were headed home to write our second graded assessment. As we are coming down those blue escalators we see a giant mob of people moving in a single direction - towards the public transportation. There was apparently a Nine Inch Nails concert there the same night that let out at exactly the same time as our movie (strangely... it was only like 11:30). We joined the mob... tried to make our way to the buses to get back to the student village. Two guys asked if Hannah and I had enjoyed the show... I am not sure if he recognized that we were wearing sparkly flip flops and cream colored cardigans. I was tempted to ask if he'd just come from the last showing of Harry Potter too... :)
